I have never posted progress photos of my paintings from their inception. New year, new painting, and I will try something different. This is a Day 1 photo of a new painting. It’s hard to photograph because it’s 4’x7’ and flat right now. I had to somewhat precariously perch on top of a tall stool to get even this (maybe I should bring a ladder to my studio? 😂). It will look very different from this, but the first day is both exciting, scary, and full of unknowns, but also promise. This time I’m inviting you along for the journey.
What you mean, why should you?
I think a more appropriate question would be why not
I mean, look around you
Exceptions to circumstances require exceptions to be made
Would you not consider this exceptional?
Any sane woman would
But it's not so much who I am as what I am
A stand up guy, man of respect
This life of value, you can't just go purchase and put it on, baby
Anybody say they can, they just puttin' on
Aye, you need to check their certification
I keep my paperwork
This was only my second piece to ever paint. A single high gloss white layer. Something tells me that 2019 might be a bit more colorful. This piece is still available for purchase. Message or email me for details.

“The Dark Knight, but make it home decor” -Tyra Banks. @itsrachaelperry has the first “Zodiac” piece I ever made and wanted the Batman logo put on top of another “Zodiac” to gift to her brother. It turned out so awesome!
Few days ago Oh Doodle Doo! crossed the 800 mark. (I don’t like the term followers so I’d stick to my version of 800 well wishers). This post is a small way of saying thank you for all the love and support and a big I LOVE YOU to all the wonderful people out there. Happy Friday y’all
PS: Isn’t it strange that the first thing you hear in the morning sticks with you the whole day or for days to come. This post was a result of the Beatles - She loves you. #iloveyou#friday#itsawonderfullife#illustrator#creativehappylife#beatles
Created this little piece late last year just before the hustle and bustle of the holidays. It captures my favorite part of how my art changed and grew last year: imperfection. When I first started focusing on more abstract, geometric designs, I started by always trying to achieve perfection… perfect lines and shapes. I used masking tape to get the crisp lines, and I always used rulers and mathematical calculations to get perfect patterns and shapes. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with this way of working, but the beauty of watercolor is in its unpredictable nature and I wanted to start capturing that within the confines of my art style.
I stopped using masking tape early on as I learned to steady my hand. When my hands aren’t so steady, they create wonderful little blips here and there in my paintings where you can see how my hand created paint strokes ever so slightly out of alignment. I still love to use rulers and math, but often ditch those in favor of free handing lines and shapes, like in the piece in this post. So, while I still want my style to evoke color and clean lines, I’d like to think that it’s still very human and organic in the way it’s created and presented. I wonder if down the line I’ll just evolve into the complete opposite where “color and clean lines” no longer even applies to my style! I’m still so new to the art world, it has definitely been fun to change and learn as an artist 🤓.
P.S., THANK YOU to everyone who has purchased one of my original pieces from my IG Stories the past two days! I’m so excited that these pieces have found new homes. Pieces still available are in my Story Highlights so feel free to check it out if you’re looking for some new art (at very discounted prices)!
