Happy Birthday Dad!!!! So glad I inherited your taste in music! So grateful we got to see Tom Petty 2 weeks before he passed. One of the best times, and memories I will carry with me forever. #dad ❤️🙌🏻 #tompetty
Wishing a very very Happy Birthday to the love of my life, best friend, co-coach, co-host, cheerleader, reality checker, believing mirror and soul mate. I don't know what I did right in this life or any others to call you my husband but I would gladly do it again a million times over. Our road has not been any easy one and I have no doubt more challenges await us but I know that together we can get through it. Thank you for teaching me to dream, believe in myself when I am at my lowest, getting me juice boxes when I literally do have a low without a beat no matter the time or amount of sleep you have got, thank you for trying to make me laugh after fights and being the best friend a gal could ask for. You put us first daily and we appreciate you more than I could ever put into words.
You are an extraordinary father and I am so looking forward to seeing you continue to grow and evolve in this new role.
Love you too much James Dalzell!! Happy Birthday baby!
⚠️Late Fathers Day post⚠️
These are my 3 kids, a few years ago...in a more pudgy state.🙂 Being a dad is hard. For me, anyway. 🤷🏽♂️
But fatherhood has taught me a lot.
If you know me, you know that my faith in God is pretty central to who I am. As I parent these kids, they occasionally need discipline...in the midst of that discipline, I still love them. Tons. It reminds me that I still need discipline from time to time and that I am still loved through that process.
As I watch them do things they love, it reminds me that God also takes joy in seeing me do things that I am passionate about.
As I help them wrestle with navigating difficult choices in life, it reminds me that God’s wisdom is available to me as I navigate difficult situations.
Parenting has given me a deeper understanding of God’s love for his children. And while I know that not everyone reading this believes what I’m saying here...consider the idea that maybe you don’t always do what’s right...that you do need consequences to effectively learn from bad choices. That you are still loved in spite of your bad choices. Consider that you don’t always know what’s best and you need wisdom. Consider that the joy you experience in exercising your gifts/passions is not just felt by you.
