  • When we landed in #Beira in #Mozambique on March 24 this is some of the damage we saw: Hardly an intact roof in the entire city, partially collapsed buildings, sheet metal from roofs hanging from other structures. #CycloneIdai When we landed in #beira in #mozambique on March 24 this is some of the damage we saw: Hardly an intact roof in the entire city, partially collapsed buildings, sheet metal from roofs hanging from other structures. #cycloneidai

  • Hand-To-Hand

During our recent #missiontomozambique in the wake of #cycloneidai we reached thousands of displaced families and provided them with access to safe drinking water and solar lamps to brighten the night.

#CadenaSA is currently fundraising for our next mission in June to the greater #Beira areas, where we will be equipping communities with water filters and solar lamps as well as distributing hygiene and dignity kits.
Our neighbors urgently need your help!

Please give generously

  • #Hope after the storm

Thank you for sheltering survivors of #CycloneIdai.
Thanks to our generous Australian supporters, UNHCR was able to rush life-saving shelter and relief items to assist over 35,000 of the most vulnerable survivors in #Zimbabwe, #Mozambique and #Malawi.
#UNHCR Director for Southern Africa, Valentin Tapsoba, is in Mozambique, where needs are increasing by the day, to oversee relief operations. “We are here to show #solidarity and #compassion for the people affected. They are not alone, we are here to support them,” he says. “Houses and livelihoods have been destroyed and people are staying in churches, in schools, in public buildings. “The survivors of this devastating disaster need assistance. This is unprecedented. We have never seen anything like this.” #WithRefugees

  • 🎤 We celebrated the #WorldHealthDay yesterday with the Student Counseling Center and Health Services at @zayedu #AbuDhabi.

We presented #IHC and our role in line with the #UAE efforts to accelerate and facilitate access to health services in developing countries. We also spoke about our Flash Studio Project and the support we provided to both #humanitarian and #media agencies during #CycloneIdai emergency.

Under the title of Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere, a four aspect discussion was held. Among the speakers were IHC Board Member, Mrs. Caroline Faraj, and IHC Deputy CEO, Mr. Khalid Al Awadhi.

🎤 We celebrated the #worldhealthday yesterday with the Student Counseling Center and Health Services at @zayedu #abudhabi. • Can you imagine being able to put a smile like this one someone’s face who has lost everything?? This picture just makes my heart so happy that this sweet boy was able to get help, but breaks my heart to think of all those still in such dire need after Cyclone Idai. Rather than just donate to the amazing Care For Life @careforlife_africa charity that is helping these people the best way possible, we decided to do a fundraiser for our kids to learn about sacrificing for others and to help raise awareness. It was a last minute thing and a little crazy, but we collected left over garage sale items are our neighborhood garage sale and our friends @aftonwest neighborhood garage sale. With their awesome family’s help, having kids ride bikes from garage sale to garage sale handing out fliers, lots of reaching out and giving up a couple Saturdays, we were able to collect more than 2,700 lbs of donations to raise money for those suffering in Mozambique. All of the effort was worth it, knowing it was going towards helping families desperately in need. We have so many little things those people only dream of - fresh clean water on demand, safe shelter for our children, food we can just go pick up at a grocery store... to name a few! I just kept thinking the words to the song “Because I Have Been Given Much” We have so much, let us give to our fellow brothers and sisters! Right now all donations made to www.careforlife.org are being matched by a generous donor... meaning your donation is worth double!! 100% of the donations go to help those in Mozambique. No donation is too small. I promise you won’t regret helping such a worth while cause... like they said in their post, with out us they won’t stand a chance. #mozambique #careforlife #cycloneidai #give #giveback #families #service #serviceproject #help #donate #smile #children #africa #everypennycounts #payitforward #cleanwater #food Can you imagine being able to put a smile like this one someone’s face who has lost everything?? In this episode of the Freedom Train Podcast Series, Joseph and Patrick tackle three topics that are relevant to black people in America, Africa and world wide. They first talked about the glaring differences in the aide and monetary donations between the devastating Cyclone Idai and he burning of the Notre Dame Cathedral. They breakdown the new formed H.R.40 - Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act, to see if it is truly something beneficial to black Americans. Lastly, they pay their respects to the late great Nipsey Hussle. He was a force within his community and he put Hip Hop on notice with his latest album Victory Lap. • #CycloneIdai hit the coast of #Mozambique just North of #Beira on the 14th-15th of March. Huge areas were flooded and houses were destroyed. The EU was asked to help with water purification equipment. I work for the Danish Emergency Management Agency, which asked me on Friday 22nd if I could go to Mozambique for a couple of weeks as deputy team leader. Saturday night, the 23rd I took off from Copenhagen with two colleagues, we were the advance team. We landed in Beira, pop. 500,000 24 hours later. #cycloneidai hit the coast of #mozambique just North of #beira on the 14th-15th of March. Huge areas were flooded and houses were destroyed. • A month ago I landed in #Beira in #Mozambique as part of a specialist team providing clean water in the aftermath of #CycloneIdai. I was too busy at the time, but I would like to share some photos and experiences from my trip. Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Southern and Eastern Africa respond to Cyclone Idai, described by the United Nations as one of the worst weather-related disasters ever experienced in the Southern Hemisphere.

When Cyclone Idai made landfall in the Mozambique port city of Beira March 14, its storm surge destroyed an estimated 90 percent of the area and continued west through Zimbabwe and Malawi. Damage rendered much of the region inaccessible. 🇲🇿 Scientology @scientologyvolunteerministers Respond to Mozambique Cyclone ˙ Read the story📰 on ScientologyNews .org. ˙ Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Southern and Eastern Africa respond to Cyclone Idai, described by the United Nations as one of the worst weather-related disasters ever experienced in the Southern Hemisphere. ˙ When Cyclone Idai made landfall in the Mozambique port city of Beira March 14, its storm surge destroyed an estimated 90 percent of the area and continued west through Zimbabwe and Malawi. • In the aftermath of Cyclone Idai, @plan_uk emergency response teams distributed WASH kits containing buckets, jerry cans and soap to families affected so as they could reduce risk of cholera spread. Assistance and disaster relief operations are underway, but there is still more to be done to help the people of Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe recover from the devastation of the cyclone. Please give what you can by donating via the link in our bio.
