Kicked my bum with this work out! I am so excited to be training with him cause he really knows his material, he cares, he is passionate and an amazing dancer. Cheers to the next 6 months, amazing things happening and about to happen, to expansion, strength, passion, flexibility, health, expression, cheers to the love of dance. ・・・
@zamboz19 gettin' it with this renegade row + breaking footwork complex. She wants to get stronger with breaking, and so her program incorporates movements found in the dance. Strength and conditioning is relative to the activities you want to be proficient in (i.e. - you get good at the things you do on the regular), so get specific on your goals and train accordingly.⠀

Your toe touch “wish list” is closer than you think with this exercise. It can be done without a weight and on the floor but I always love a stability challenge.

  • Working with an amazing 11-year-old!! I've been training @_roselyngrace for a few months, and we have been doing all basics, finding her posterior chain, building core strength and awareness, learning where her body balances in space. We do largely mat work and small props at this point, getting the basics in her little body in a developmentally appropriate way.

On a whim, I talked her through this Balance Control right after we did Roll Ups, and she performed it extraordinarily well! You can see how she finds her spine length in the second leg extension. 📌 Many people think this is a spinal flexion exercise but it's really all about the posterior chain! Afterwards I asked her what was tired and she said the backs of her legs! 📌 Encouraging length through the spine is key.

It just goes to show: working age-apporpriately and slowly can yield great results! Way to go Rose!

  • I am so lucky I get to spend my summer with @henrysibleydt 💕 when I’m working with these dancers I feel like I’m coaching my friends, not just a team. I’ve been working with these incredible dancers for over a year and the love and respect they have for their coaches is tangible and the love and respect the coaches have for their dancers is inspiring. 🙌🏻 I am so lucky I get to spend my summer with @henrysibleydt 💕 when I’m working with these dancers I feel like I’m coaching my friends, not just a team. I’ve been working with these incredible dancers for over a year and the love and respect they have for their coaches is tangible and the love and respect the coaches have for their dancers is inspiring. 🙌🏻
