  • It might be past midnight on the East Coast, but here in Laguna Beach it’s 10pm, which means there’s still time for a #fridayintroduction post! 💁🏼‍♀️😝
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I thought since today was the last day of #bbdlive, and I’ve been sharing my biggest takeaway each day, I’d blend my introduction with what I learned today - because they actually go hand in hand.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We did an “introspection” journaling exercise, and I want to share two of the questions and my answers with you...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q: Who was I when I walked into this room three days ago? (ie, the false story I was choosing to tell myself) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A: I was a perfectionist with anxiety who is always overwhelmed and scared of “getting it wrong.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Q: Who am I now?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A: I am someone who has FUN and prioritizes joy in my business. I am someone who experiments relentlessly without fear of failure. I am someone who sees life and business as a big adventure - something to be explored and enjoyed, not feared! I am someone who has complete control over choosing my own reality and telling the story I WANT to live in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, happy Fri-yay, y’all! Thanks to @jameswedmore, his team and everyone who presented at BBD Live, I’m walking into the weekend feeling crystal clear on who I am and what I value - and that feels like the best possible way to take on whatever 2019 is going to bring my way. ✨

  • Hi 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m Amanda (not Aria,) the face behind the hands creating what you see here. 😊 I live in Los Angeles with my coffee makin’, story writin’, always keepin’ me laughin’ preacher man @revjhou, and our 2 amazing kiddos, Aria (almost 4) and Shiloh (1.) ⠀
⠀
On any given day, you’ll probably find us enjoying incredible coffee (either at home or in a local shop,) having a family dance party, and enjoying life as much as possible. 🙌🏻⠀
⠀
Aria Paperie began simply as a creative outlet almost 4 years ago, just after my daughter Aria was born. Our experience of “newborn life” was a little... traumatic, as we endured 5 challenging months of colic with our sweet baby girl. On top of that, I was struggling with postpartum depression (but didn’t know it,) and recovering physically from a c-section. To say it was challenging is an understatement. I began to experience more anxiety than I had in a long time, and felt so alone. Just in the nick of time, I was introduced to Brush Lettering through a workshop at @31bits. I was immediately drawn to the therapeutic nature of the art, and the accessibility, making it the perfect creative outlet for the season I was in. I began to take out my pens and paper to practice as frequently as possible, and as I improved, people started asking me to make things for them... the rest is history. ⠀
⠀
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the challenges we experience, and how important they are to our overall story. I can honestly say, I’m not sure I’d be where I am today, were it not for that challenging season. So if you’re reading this and experiencing difficulties of your own at this time, I hope you’re encouraged to press on and trust that it’s all for good. Oh, and that colicky newborn... she’s gonna be 4 on Tuesday, and she is the most AMAZING little girl I’ve ever met. 💕⠀
⠀
I’m so thankful for everything I have learned over the past 4 years, and all that is to come. Thank you for following along, supporting me, and encouraging this little passion of mine. Y’all are the best! ❤️ Hi 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m Amanda (not Aria,) the face behind the hands creating what you see here. 😊 I live in Los Angeles with my coffee makin’, story writin’, always keepin’ me laughin’ preacher man @revjhou, and our 2 amazing kiddos, Aria (almost 4) and Shiloh (1.) ⠀ ⠀ On any given day, you’ll probably find us enjoying incredible coffee (either at home or in a local shop,) having a family dance party, and enjoying life as much as possible. 🙌🏻⠀ ⠀ Aria Paperie began simply as a creative outlet almost 4 years ago, just after my daughter Aria was born.
