  • Our next speaker has been one of event sponsors since the day we launched in Seattle and we are excited to get to know about journey more! Introducing Kayla of @seatownsweets 🧁🍪
.
Kayla’s love for baking began when she was younger and would bake with her grandmother. It wasn’t until she moved out that she got her first Kitchenaid Mixer and rediscovered her passion for making treats for family and friends. With a few baking classes, she found a knack for buttercream and has been creating custom desserts ever since!

We are so excited to chat with Kayla on January 31st @the101.828! Ps - have you got your ticket bet? Early bird ends on January 22nd! ✨ PPS - night have heard that her cake pops will be making an appearance 👀💕 Our next speaker has been one of event sponsors since the day we launched in Seattle and we are excited to get to know about journey more! • “Say Yes to What Matters and No to What Doesn’t“
Hi, friends! 👋🏻 This is day three of Rising Tide Society’s #BestGoals2019 Instagram challenge - encouraging creatives to set meaningful goals! Today is about saying yes to what matters and no to what doesn’t. (For some, donuts might fall under both categories.😂)
.
Without hesitation I say yes to intentionally cultivating authentic connections and spending time doing worthwhile things. (It takes some balancing and time but it’s doable!) Conversely, I say no to things that hinder me from doing the two. What about your “yes” and “no?” Do you find it challenging to determine those and do they ever conflict?
.
Are you a creative entrepreneur who needs a little encouragement with goal setting? Join @risingtidesociety + @honeybook + @cultivatewhatmatters and be a part of #communityovercompetition! • Rainy days are brightened up with something cozy and homemade. Kale pesto made in a double batch, that will also feed us another time this week. Maybe in a manicotti or a creamy veggie lasagna.
For today, spoonfuls of this pesto on top of a simple Pappardelle noodle (thanks @traderjoes!) 🌿
KALE PESTO
3 cups kale leaves, stemmed and washed
2 cups basil leaves, washed
3 garlic gloves
1 cup pine nuts (we substituted 1/2 c almonds here)
1 1/2 c freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 c EV olive oil
🌿
In a food processor, add all ingredients except the oil. Pulse until chopped. Slowly drizzle oil in as you purée until smooth. Add a splash of water or additional oil, if needed.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for a week, or freeze and use within a month. 💚 Rainy days are brightened up with something cozy and homemade. • Queen. Boss Woman.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I ended 2018 screening a custom design on authentic denim for the @bosswomenmedia Holiday Happy Hour event. I knew immediately that my order will be placed before dropping these babies off. I was in a season of owning my roll as a business woman, moving forward with projects, saying what my goals were out loud and standing behind my work. Like, truly trusting God, you know. I was done being timid and doubting my abilities. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wearing this jacket is like making a statement to myself. Sometimes when we need to affirm ourselves, we choose words, hang the on our walls but I found that wearing it is even better. You get to carry that with you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
