Shiro looked around at his guests, everyone seemed to be having a good time. Keith had hardly left his and Curtis’s side since the ceremony. His shyness hadn’t left him after all this time, Shiro chuckled.
He was more relaxed now, that previous bout of uneasiness all but forgotten. And when Curtis looked his way and smiled-
“Shiro? Shiro have you seen Katie?” His eyes snapped toward Colleen, lines of worry cutting deeply into her face as Shiro’s heart leapt to his throat. Huh? He looked aroun and, sure enough, Pidge wasn’t there. Worry seized him like a hand ripping through his chest.
Curtis answered for him.

“Yes you’re probably right, I think the two of us should be heading back home now anyway.” That nearly made him jump. Leaving?
“So soon Colleen? The cake hasn’t even been cut!” Shiro laughed, but that didn’t make a dent in the ice witching Colleen.
“Well weddings aren’t something Katie is used to, so better safe then sorry. Bye boys.” Curtis Wishes her goodnight happily, oblivious to any previous chills. Though once she was out of an earshot, Shiro’s husband couldn’t help but wonder aloud-
“What kind of person leaves a wedding early?” Which strict Shiro in a horrible, horrible way. And that doubt from before started creeping back in.
Had he made a mistake?
“Yeah, who would want to...” Keith’s voice was a shock, snapping Shiro’s eyes unto him. But Keith wasn’t looking at anything but Lance on the dance floor, twirling his nieces around and around until they fell down. Shiro shivered, a deep, deep part of him finally understanding something he was too scared to admit aloud
