  • In this weeks episode of #itstimeforcoffeepodcast Amanda and I discussed this quote.
☕️When I read it for the first time I wanted to fight back.
😬But that’s when I realized I need to #checkmyheart
🤯What do you think about this?
🤷🏽‍♀️Is branding even something you think about?! Week #3 – Day #3
Armor of God – Priscilla Shirer
The Breastplate of Righteousness
* "... as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness."
Ephesians 4:21-24
*
Some of the clothes in my closet – honestly, they’re so old and worn, I have no business wearing them any longer. Sometimes lifestyle choices and habits are the same. You may have indulged lust for so long, or lived tethered to pride or anger for so many years that it’s become a comfortable outfit for you. But they are symbolic of your old life. Dated. Antiquated. Out of character. Putting it off daily won’t be easy, but by God’s Spirit it can be done.
*
Wearing the breastplate of righteousness involves both putting off and putting on. We put on the breastplate of righteousness by making a conscious decision and a firm, consistent resolve to “cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.” Romans 3:12.
*
Of course, this easier said than done and this is why we need to rely fully on the Holy Spirit to seek His deliverance and healing in the areas of unrighteousness that we can’t break in our own strength. How does He do this? By breaking the oppression of the enemy in our soul by renewing the way we think.
*
Jesus’ righteousness is already yours (yesterday’s lesson), it is already IN you, now it needs to be ON you. God is doing something this very minute to help you do what you otherwise could not. He is renewing your mind, realigning your passions and attitudes and giving you strength to live in a way that is pleasing to Him and a huge blessing to you and to others. Let’s put on the breastplate of His righteousness.
*

Please leave a “yes” if you read today’s post. If you have a moment...
