“Happiness is having something to look forward to” for so long I’ve been debating this in my head. Are the weekends not enough since we’re always looking forward to them, isn’t everyday supposed to be valued the same, happiness is supposed to live in every moment. As I grow older my perspective has changed, maybe the job we work for 9-5 doesn’t fulfill us in a way that shows what our passion is, but maybe it allows us to be with those we love after 5 and on the weekends. Maybe that same job gives us benefits we wouldn’t have elsewhere, something to provide our loved ones with, maybe we’re thinking too hard of what we expect of the world when we’ve been given everything we could possibly be looking for on a silver platter. If we lived in happiness in every moment, what would there be to look forward to? What could make you feel excited when there’s nothing that could be next? So maybe happiness is having something to look forward to, could that be so bad? So go out and find what you want to look forward to, make it yours, make it your beacon of light, make it your something to look forward to. Sending love to wherever you may be, x.
