Do you get it?
As an employee, you kind of expect the Monday morning blues/hump-day hurrays/thank God it’s Friday cycle – after all, you don’t really have much say in your workload or who you have to work with. And getting off this merry-go-round was probably one of the reasons you wanted to branch out on your own.
But if you’re feeling like this and you’re the boss – that’s not a great place to be in. And it’s not good news for your business.
It is possible to create a business and a life that you love. It might not be easy, but then very little in life that’s worth it is. However, I absolutely believe it’s not all about the #hustle and #grind.
It’s about working smarter – not harder (but without cutting corners). It’s about understanding what to give your attention to – taking a laser-focused approach to what will serve you and what won’t. It’s about remembering why you started and what your dreams are – but not being afraid to reset your goals as you grow and evolve as a business and as a person.

To my beautiful mama Agnes.... may you rest peacefully knowing that the legacy you left behind are thriving. In some ways I feel in my heart that you are watching over me and Brenda. For that I am grateful that your love and support for us extend beyond. It’s been 8 yrs that you left this world and so much has changed, so much to tell you about our lives but I know one day we will meet again. Love you and I’m always going to make you proud for giving me a good start of life here in the land I call home. #angel#bosslady#love#motherdaughter
Sometimes you just need that one person to believe in you.
That one person that will encourage you and tell you that you can do this.
That one person that picks you up when you feel like trying again is painful.
That one person that reminds you that your big vision is achievable.
That whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve.
That one person that sees your capabilities. They look past the walls you build up when you're vulnerable and hear past the words that you beat yourself down with.
That one person is YOU. 🦋 It has to be. It must be.
Others will be there for you; to help you and support you.
But, you will only see how far you can really go; how powerful you really are, when the belief in you is consistently firing within you.
Be grateful for every experience that has made you who you are today. .
Every heartbreak that made you stronger, and softened you too, if you allowed it. .
Every mistake made you wiser and pre-paved your future success. .
Every challenge took you deeper into yourself, to places you would have not otherwise gone. .
Every time you fell down, it created a deeper desire to get up. .
Every time you were lost in darkness, it strengthened your desire to find the light. .
There is a divine purpose to it all. It’s a perfectly orchestrated plan. .
Designed not against you, but for you. .
Keep backing yourself. You’ve got this. 🦋🔥
One of my missions is to empower others to realise that they are enough as they are. I can’t lie, I’ve had surgery, a bit of lip filler and Botox. I’ve also got a lot of ink which is my choice. Everything is your choice and we do have to respect that everyone is entitled to their own free will.
However, we as a society are on a constant quest for perfection that can never be satisfied because it’s about more than a nip and tuck. It’s about truly loving and accepting how beautiful we are on the inside. No amount of surgery, filler, or makeup will ever be able to fill that void.
It’s also about the way the media continues to objectify women, not just now but for centuries, as something to be sexualised. We are in a vicious cycle whereby we see these images of “the ideal” and “the perfect” and this feeds our sense of inadequacy. We then turn against other women in jealousy, competing against each other for the attention and gratification of who exactly? Men? Other women? Strangers on the internet? Ourselves? When we buy into the objectification, we give it power over us.
I love this image by @matmaitland
Marilyn Monroe was far from a natural beauty, yet she is glorified as one of the original sex symbols of the 20th century. And this image has been altered to show how she might look today if she were following the current surgical trends. Whether it be a selfie, a photo in a magazine... every image has the ability to either empower or cripple the mindset of another woman. We set examples and standards to our friends, colleagues, strangers and most importantly the next generation of women. I’m not suggesting a boycott on surgery because for some it’s been life changing. But let’s teach them that less is more. Stop feeding the culture that we need to adapt and filter what nature gave us to be happy and receive the approval of others. Be an individual!
Do what makes you happy and always use a professional. You get what you pay for. But before you commit ask yourself if it is really going to heal what you feel inside. It takes more than an injection to change a belief system.

I'm not big on new year resolutions. They're a fleeting moment, completely forgotten about by the time February rolls around. Instead I like to visualise how I want my year to play out.
For me it's like choreographing a dance. I turn the music on, lay on the floor, close my eyes, and create the story and movement in my head - how does the story start? Where do the dancers start? What are they doing? Where do they move to next? What happens in the crescendo? How does the story end?
So when it came to visualising 2019, it was all about simplifying the story. A word so many of us choose I know, but one I believe is so important (for our sanity!).
So what am I simplifying? My day to day routine, my processes, my offerings and message. So I am starting my story with simplifying my day to day activity. Learning to focus on just ONE task at a time and actually sticking to my time blocking schedule. Meaning my phone is going to spend most of its day in the laundry 😂 And I know my story most likely won’t end the way I visualised (my dances never do! And hey, that’s life), but for now I’m working towards the ending I’ve visualised.
What's your word or intention for 2019?
Dream BIG! Don’t set your benchmark too low and never sell yourself short. Remember that if you never ask, the answer will always be NO. May it be a week of many wins!💪🏾💫 #corporatebabygirl#missfinewine
Let your dreams BE as big as the Elephant in the room and your grit and focus be even bigger to make them a reality! I don't know about you but I'm going for MASSIVE, OVERWHELMING, GIGANTIC, UNFATHOMABLE, HUGE dreams and with faith, hardwork, patience and perseverance I'm going to make them happen! #girlsbuildingempires#elephantdreams#intentional#kickingbutt
sometimes, all you have to do is Show up “I realized that I don’t have to be perfect. All I have to do is show up and enjoy the messy, imperfect and beautiful journey of my life.” - Kerry Washington 📷 : Horst Diekgerdes
I am a life coach, passionate about helping clients to get clarity on their purpose and roll out an outreach strategy in their communities to serve others with their gifts and create the life of their dreams.
I have two sides, one very creative and free and one structured and business like.
I developed my creative side when I moved to Bali, 6 years ago. I had to unlearn doing things from my brain and learn how to be guided by intuition, and passion.
I love living outdoors, eating whole foods and doing self care rituals. By quitting my job in diplomacy and moving to Bali, I made a radical shift from doing what world thinks is successful to discovering my values, inner guidance and purpose.
I believe each one of us is a small universe in itself and we have to learn to navigate our life from within.
I am a passionate dancer, and find dance my place of worship.
I have been practicing Ecstatic, Contact dance, Biodanza, 5 Rhythms, and attending Dance Exploration sessions with Tina Bailey, a former ballerina and dance choreographer for the past 4 years.
I hold dancing workshops to help others reconnect with their joy “Get in touch with your inner child.” I am passionate about astrology and have been studying it secretly and openly for the past 10 years.
I specialize in Astrology Reading for Your Purpose, where I take a look at your natal chart as a map of your potential and study relationships of planets and houses to determine what knowledge you brought to this life-time and what skills you came to develop in this incarnation and why.
I teach outreach in local communities, how to multiply your income and followers by connecting to hubs and appearing before other’s audiences in the similar sector.
I spent 10 years working for the government in event management and public outreach, creating events and important campaigns on international level.
I would love to help you connect with you purpose and help others with your gifts.
