  • We’ve all seen the footage, we all know the story too well, we’ve experienced fear and we’ve typed “outraged” into our little keyboards. 📲 It’s time to demand action especially from our allies. ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏻✊🏼✊🏿 A child was assaulted *on camera and we are all disgusted because the perpetrator - a police officer was #reassigned. In the past 7 days I also watched school camera footage of a young black girl dragged down a flight of stairs by her leg, at her school in #Chicago at the hands of a #policeofficer. 👩🏽‍🦱<👮🏻‍♂️I also watched footage an 11 year old black boy tackled and brutalized outside of his middle school. 👦🏾<👮🏻‍♂️Our children are not punching bags or targets to be used to release frustration. 🥊 🔫 • Reassignment and desk duty is not the answer. If you believe all cops aren’t bad you’re part of the problem. Any cop who knowingly serves a community with this type of couple that offender on their force is #complicit, responsible and is part of the seemingly impenetrable problem. 👮🏻‍♂️👮🏾‍♂️🕵🏼‍♂️👮🏽‍♀️🕵🏻‍♀️• This level of contempt for black children, black men, black women, #blackpeople is dangerous. Until we take action, the cycle will continue. 🔄🔄🔄• I’m not suggesting violence or protests- that’s been done. 🚫🚫🚫Change their pension, change their pay structure, 💰change the ability to transfer from city to city after committing acts of violence, prosecute them like violent offenders and hold the #lawenforcement community to the highest standards of the #laws they are meant to protect and the communities they are meant to serve.🏛⚖️ #endpolicebrutality We’ve all seen the footage, we all know the story too well, we’ve experienced fear and we’ve typed “outraged” into our little keyboards. 📲 It’s time to demand action especially from our allies. ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏻✊🏼✊🏿 A child was assaulted *on camera and we are all disgusted because the perpetrator - a police officer was #reassigned. • 😂😅🙌🏼🔊 M A G A #yep #idiot #saysomething #goodpeople #sameshitdifferentday #badass #everyday #winning #gotem thanks! @dixiehensrud — FRIENDSWOOD, #Texas (KTRK) #Racist videos are extremely disappointing to see, but these days they're popping up all over the place.
-
A recent one was a bit more satisfying for the victim when a police officer makes a cameo at the end.
-
Cell phone video shows a man identified as Joey Christian yelling at a worker at an AT&T store in Friendswood.
-
"He came in loud and yelling already," store employee Mo said.
-
Christian was demanding to speak to a manager because the victim, Mo, asked to see an ID for a credit check. Then, things got much worse.
-
After Christian disparaged Mo for being a minority, a customer recording the incident confronted him.
-
"I really don't give a **** about some peon Arab who actually doesn't even belong here," Christian said.
-
"I kept my cool and tried to be as calm as I could," Mo said.
-
He asked ABC13 not to use his last name. He says he's seen racism before, so he wasn't all that surprised. But he was grateful for the customer who helped.
-
"That lady was a blessing. She called the #cops, she gave me the video, and without her, I think he would have got away free."
-
The customer stalled and kept Christian talking, because she had a surprise of her own.
-
"We were in line first. We were actually trying to get service," the customer said.
-
"Oh, sweetie, you're fine. I thought you worked here," Christian said.
-
"Uh, ok. And I called the #police," the customer said.
-
"That's fine. Yeah, it is fine," Christian said. He was arrested moments later for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
-
During his rant, Christian implied that he served in the #military. But it is not clear if he is actually a veteran. He does however have an extensive criminal history for aggravated robbery, burglary and and a DUI.
-
Mo says he hopes some good can come from this.
-
"I hope people realize they can't come out like that and have that kind of anger, and that kind of tone with people," he said.
