  • Today’s workout is brought to you by Brian Alsruhe (@neversate), the man himself! I watched a video that Brian posted a while ago about how he does his programming and it intrigued me. He does 3 giant sets, each set has 3 exercises and 90 seconds of rest between each set. It kills! I did this because I’m trying to be more athletic and get my conditioning up as well, while still training strength. It’s hard work, but it’s so damn rewarding!

The videos are of my secondary giant set, after my main giant set (minus the sled pushes, which was my finisher). I did front squats, progressing from 95lbs to 105lbs (which was a lot after my first giant set trust me), straight to squat jumps (also very sloppy, give me a break I’m new at this kind of training lol), and finally toe-to-bars (or whatever you want to call them). I was dead.

I didn’t really go heavy today because this week is a deload week for me, and I’m also new at this type of training so I wanted to prepare myself and ease into it at least once. The finisher of sled pushes absolutely killed me. I put 2 plates on for half the field there and back, and finished with a single plate all the way down the field and all the way back. My lower body hates me right now.
