YOUR MINDSET

Rick Hanson, author of Buddha’s Brain, said “Nurturing your own development isn’t selfish. It’s actually a great gift to other people.” This is such a profound statement in a world where we are constantly under pressure to be busy doing everything other than taking care of ourselves. If you feel a sense of guilt for focusing on your development and expanding your experience of life, it’s time to stop. Integrating practices into your life to open up your consciousness and awaken to the full potential of your experience is not selfish. It is good for everyone around you.

You will be in a position to help — to really help. You will be calmer and more at ease within yourself. You will be more empathetic, more aware, and better and communicating and connecting with others. This work is not selfish.

  • This mornings #journaling was focused on #selflove and healing 🧡 This last month has been a whirlwind and I have been having some physical health issues due to a very unbalanced sacral chakra. I have neglected self care massively already in 2019, it’s so easy to put the little things off because ‘work is too busy’ or ‘there’s too much housework and errands’ - I’ve got a whole catalogue of excuses but the truth is there is always time for self care. Whether it’s a hot bath at the end of a long day, a 15minute walk at lunch time, 20 minutes of meditation or yoga in the morning, there is always time in your life for YOU. If you neglect the needs of your body, your body can’t help your mind achieve its goals. Finding a way to work in sync is about practice and getting to know yourself. Today I’m going to be aware of the colour orange as I try to rebalance my #sacralchakra 🧡🦁🍊other great ways to tend to your sacral chakra could be through water, drink more, swim in it, take a bath! Or getting creative and enjoying the moment - task for today is to get painting and enjoy this moment right here 🧘🏻‍♀️ This mornings #journaling was focused on #selflove and healing 🧡 This last month has been a whirlwind and I have been having some physical health issues due to a very unbalanced sacral chakra. • Be a warrior not a worrier. 📸 Credits to @powerwithin.in ❇️ Keep doing what you need to do to get to your goal. Stop thinking too much. Stop thinking at all and just keep doing it. It doesn’t matter if you have problems. Take your worriers out of your schedule and keep doing. Worries will try to distract you, but keep on doing until worries give up trying to distract you. Train your mind to keep doing the things you have to do to finish your project. Practice to train your mind now and again. ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ ▶Are you an expat living abroad and wondering how to live a productive and successful life in your new homeland? • #FridayFunFact: In January 2015, Sarah and Hang attended a “Day of Mindfulness” with the Birrarung Sangha in #Melbourne. They practiced sitting and walking meditation, mindful eating and mindful tea drinking. Sarah was quite new to the practice at the time. During mindful tea drinking Sarah had an awakening moment as she realised that mindfulness is a way of life, not just something to practice on the yoga mat or mediation cushion 🍵 She felt relief that day as she saw how mindfulness can help everyone to suffer less.
