~The most toxic thing about excuses, is the fact that they are VALID.
You have every right to complain about that job you didnt get, about the abuse you received as a child. Its YOUR right to complain and bitch and whinge... you are right, and that is your choice to make.
However, whether the excuse, the set back or the fairness of something that happened to you is valid or not, if you make that choice, if you exercise that RIGHT to let that negatively impact your ability to move on and create something POSITIVE and NOURISHING from that, then you immediately take on any blame from that point forward.
There are excuses, and you can USE them, thats fine.... but.... its when you start MAKING them, when you DWELL on them and CARRY them with you into your decision making process moving forward, THATS ON YOU.

In the realm of energetic healing, there maybe times of changes to your sleep cycle. Fluctuations in moods and appetite can also arise. As the body adjusts to higher levels of concious awareness, the increase of self care and tuning into your thoughts and your body will support you through the shifts. It can be very helpful to remind yourself that it's a time of renewal. We have to let go of the old and allow new experiences to occur. Chakra healing as often been referred to as healing for the soul. In this modern age we can be very conditioned to attempt to find healing from the outer world. In truth, when we heal from within we then have the power to shape our outer world.
A great meditation to assist with this is finding a comfortable and quiet space to connect. Sit in a comfortable position. Place your left hand on the heart chakra and right hand on the floor. As you breathe in repeat the affirmation "I can" and visualise a green wheel of light in the centre of your heart. I've come to this spot many times before.
But this time it's different.
It's not to get away from the world but to welcome the world into what I have to offer.
I've learned more in last few months of my life than ever before.
The most important lesson I've learned is to always be true to who you are.
Those who are searching for the same thing will find you.
It's what you do in that moment that will forever change the way you see the world.
Second is that we have full control over the thoughts and ideas we allow to enter our minds.
Sometimes we just have to forcefully turn down the NEGATIVITY and CRANK UP the POSITIVE messages.

Dr. Dan Siegel has written many books including the super helpful book on the the developing teenage brain, Brainstorm, which I reference in my trainings for how to teach teenagers yoga. His new book, Aware, has really inspired me in a new way to commit to meditation practice. He lays out the particularly intriguing science and research on the power of integrated mind training and the very real hope of its power to reduce anxiety and depression and create a sense of well being for each of us. I really love the hub, rim, spoke model he outlines.
