I was 18 with a dope skunk stripe in my hair and maybe weighed 115lbs. I was cheering back then and my coach would tell me to drink ensure to pack on some weight because my flier would weigh almost the same weight as me. I ate everything in sight because I assumed the more calories and bad food I would eat, the more weight I would gain. I hit the gym, but didn’t actually know what I was doing, but loved feeling sore and seeing myself progress and get stronger each week. I watched a ton of YouTube videos on how to train and what “bodybuilders” ate to get big. I eventually stuck to a clean bulking diet I got off of bodybuilding.com where I was able to put on 3lbs of quality muscle in 8 weeks. I stayed persistent and consistent with eating, training, and resting. Fast forward 10 years later, I am now an IFBB Pro Men’s Physique competitor preparing for one of the biggest fitness competitions in the world. I won the Arnold Amateur last year, and it’s crazy to me that I’m doing the same show this year except only as a pro!

Before I won the Arnold, I had less than 2000 followers. I had no clothing, supplement, or meal prep sponsors. I was a “nobody” going into that show. I never lost sight or focus of my goals. I failed getting my pro card the show before, but never let that hinder me from trying again. I just worked harder. But nobody cares about your story until you win. So fucking win!

  • 7 weeks out from the #arnoldamateur2019 and a week on holidays 😜😬🤪 I’ve enjoyed my time here but time to get back on a proper schedule with diet and training. I’m not sure what my current weight is, so that will be next weeks check in. Back and shoulders still messed up but the warm weather really helps a lot. For those who have chronic injuries, you know what I’m talking about. Canadian winters are especially tough on me. I’m also extremely proud of myself. I have not had a drink my entire trip, which has been difficult but I know where one drink leads. Almost 9 months sober!!!! I never thought I’d get to this point. My support has been amazing since I’ve slowly stopped isolating myself. Believe me when I say that people care. I have an incredible family, friends and boyfriend @alexandhur and I’ve realized that we can’t do things alone. As much as I was ashamed, embarrassed, and not sure what my future held, getting out of my comfort zone and getting help was the only thing that saved my life. I hope everyone has an amazing Sunday 😊❤️😁#figurecompetitor #7weeksout #fitness #physique #bodybuilding #girlswholift #soberlife #veterans 7 weeks out from the #arnoldamateur2019 and a week on holidays 😜😬🤪 I’ve enjoyed my time here but time to get back on a proper schedule with diet and training.
