The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge have attended an event at King's College London, to open the university's new educational facilities.
In a rare joint engagement, the Queen and the Duchess were greeted outside the Strand campus by crowds of students waving flags and cheering.
The royals were also met by academics from the university, as well as by former Prime Minister John Major and Lord Mayor of Westminster Lindsey Hall.
The 92-year-old Queen is a royal patron of the university and previously visited in 2012 with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

There could be an estimated 1000 tonnes of plastic waste washed up on the remote coral atoll of Aldabra, according to scientists.

Deep Ocean Live saw presenter Anna Botting descend hundreds of feet below the Indian Ocean to broadcast the world’s first live TV news bulletin from under the sea.
The broadcast offered a rare glimpse at Aldabra, one of the earths most heavily protected coral atolls, 600 miles southwest of the Seychelles.
It is the first of three days of exploration which will see small submarines descend into the little explored “twilight zone” at a depth of 300m.

New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Ardern met with worshippers at the Kilbirnie Mosque to pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack in Christchurch.
Ms Ardern's promised changes to the country's gun laws within 10 days following the shootings at two mosques which killed 50 people.
She said cabinet ministers had made a decision in principle to clamp down on gun ownership but details still needed to be worked out.
She's also announced an inquiry into the country's intelligence services.

The Killers and The Cure are the latest artists to be named as this year's headliners at Glastonbury.
They will join Stormzy - his appearance on the world-famous Pyramid stage was revealed back in November.
The rapper will headline on Friday, Brandon Flowers' band on the Saturday and rock bank The Cure will take to the stage on Sunday.
Janet Jackson's making her first appearance at the festival and Kylie Minogue will perform in the 'legend slot' on Sunday afternoon.
This Knife Angel sculpture has been installed outside Coventry Cathedral.
The 27ft creation is made out of 100,000 surrendered knives.
It comes as the latest figures show the number of knife and offensive weapons offences formally dealt with in England and Wales last year were the highest for almost a decade.
More than 21,000 incidents were recorded in 2018, the highest number since 2009 (25,103 offences). The sculpture is set to head to another location on April 23. It's already showcased in Liverpool and Hull.

Children have been dragged out from rubble after a building containing a primary school collapsed in Nigeria’s capital.
At least eight people lost their lives in the collapse with many more still missing.
Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode said the schools was set up illegally and that buildings in the area were undergoing integrity testing.
Nigeria, which has poor building regulation oversight, has suffered a number of building collapses in recent years.

Around the size of a thumb the starry dwarf frog is so called because of the star-like pattern on its body.

The last surviving member of the famous Great Escape has died aged 101. Jack Lyon provided surveillance for the escape team and was about to enter the tunnel when the first gunshots were fired by German camp guards. He later said that being caught probably saved his life.
76 men made it out of the Stulag Luft III camp, but only three made it to safety. 50 were captured and murdered by the Nazis.
