  • Photograph by @PaulNicklen | Iceberg alley in Antarctica. Beautiful and disturbing all at the same time. Here, icebergs come to die. As ice-shelves in Antarctica break up, icebergs the size of apartment buildings get trapped on the ocean floor near the Lemaire Channel. Within weeks, these monoliths will return to their original liquid state. Massive towering icebergs framed by a rich sunset feed the soul and the lens. To see more from my favorite place on this planet, Antarctica, please follow me, @PaulNicklen. #antarctica #gratitude #adventure

  • Photo by Carlton Ward Jr @carltonward | I love the color of new cypress needles in the spring. It’s my favorite color of green. This pair of photos is from Babcock Ranch where the ten thousand acre Telegraph Cypress Swamp is the defining feature of the 70 thousand acre state preserve. I was there on a sunset mission with filmmaker Eric Bendick— just us, a few birds and several hundred alligators. The gators were relatively concentrated in the deeper water of the pond during the late dry season. It’s hardly rained in Florida since then, so I bet the gators are really stacked up now. But it looks like tropical rains are soon on their way and the gators will be able to swim widely between the trees. Please follow me @carltonward to discover the hidden wild. #cypress #swamp #gators #florida

  • Photo by @BabakTafreshi | The sound of waves crashing onto the coastal cliffs was the music of this surreal night along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. The setting moon was softly shining on me while I enjoyed the glory of the southern Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds hanging over the vast Southern Ocean. The two clouds, icons of the southern sky, are our neighboring satellite galaxies, visible to the naked eyes as you see them in this photograph, when you are away from city lights. Watching them, you're looking at light that belongs to about 200,000 years ago, well before early humans reached Australia. • Photo by Renan_Ozturk | One more time around the stupah. It's always grounding to walk a few ambulations at Boudhanath in Kathmandu Nepal with hundreds of locals and pilgrims before any journey deeper into the Himalaya.

  • Photo by Robbie Shone @shonephoto | The food is a really important aspect of every expedition. If the team don’t eat well, it can lead to ‘hangry’ people! On our last expedition in China, we stayed with a wonderful family in Ranjiagou, who looked after us really well. The food in rural China is a real cultural experience too, just like it is on every expedition around the world. This photograph shows the typical scene every evening in the family’s farmhouse. Dou Ximei’s cooking was the highlight of the expedition, on top of finding so many new and amazing caves.
