  • I don’t know about you, but towards the end of my workouts, all I can think about is all the food I’m about to refuel my body with 💪🏼🥑🍌One of my go-to post workout choices is this protein shake! It took a few tries to finally get the taste right but I think I finally got it 👩🏽‍🍳 (I use unsweetened almond milk in these shakes since I cannot drink milk🐄)————————————————————————
One thing that I really like about protein shakes is that they are quick and easy to make and are a perfect post workout option before making a meal👌🏼In the mornings after my workout, I make my protein shake, get  in the shower 🚿and then make my breakfast 🍳 ————————————————————————

  • I’ve never been a morning person🚫 I never have been someone who wakes up any earlier than needed before work😴 But something in me changed this week. I woke up TWICE. Once during a snow storm⛄️ and once on a frigid morning before 6:00 AM to workout🏋🏽‍♀️ And let me tell ya something...IT IS AMAZING. Getting to the end of my work day and realizing I already did my workout for the day is the GREATEST feeling😬 ————————————————————————
I didn’t have the best two weeks with my diet...a lot going on and spending time with friends but I am excited to get my diet back on track and to hopefully see these early morning workouts pay off 💪🏼 ————————————————————————

Between working a lot and a family emergency, I barely had time to sleep this week 😟 Which has resulted in me coming down with a chest cold 🤢 However, I’m going to listen to my body and give it the rest it needs and get back to my gym routine in a few days🏃🏽‍♀️🏋🏽‍♀️ ————————————————————————
Crockpot meals are the BEST! Tonight I put some boneless chicken breasts 🍗quinoa, and mixed vegetables🥕 in to create a risotto type meal. It is DELICIOUS 👩🏽‍🍳 ————————————————————————

  • Sometimes work gets tough, life gets tough, and you just want to come home on a Friday night, curl into a ball on the couch and not move 🛌 But sometimes, you have to fight those thoughts and remind yourself about what goals you want to reach and how you’re not going to reach them sitting on the couch 💪🏼 Last night I had no interest of going to the gym but I told myself “do I still want to look how I look now in 3 months. NO!🚫 So get your butt changed and get to the gym🏋🏽‍♀️” AND that’s exactly what I did! Friday night leg workouts are the best 😊 I have been using my new @gaiam resistance bands to incorporate new exercises and am loving them 🥰 ————————————————————————

  • Two days into the new year...how is your 2019 going?! 🥳 The new year has been treating me quite well so far! I started noticing myself making progress in December mentally and I’ve noticed it’s starting to have a positive impact on my life😊 I feel more energized 🏃🏽‍♀️the want to work out🏋🏽‍♀️ (almost everyday!), the ability to fight off unhealthy cravings🚫🧁, and the desire to fuel my body with nutritious and delicious food 🍗🍳🥬

When I was in Wegmans yesterday, I noticed I was craving a side dish (like potato salad or pasta salad) but was turned away by the amount of unhealthy ingredients in the store made kind. So INSTEAD, I had an idea to make my own homemade pasta salad🥙 The ingredients I used in this pasta salad were: @barilla protein plus penne, feta cheese, red pepper, cucumber and @primalkitchenfoods Italian dressing with avocado oil 🥑 It is a very filling and delicious side dish that pairs well with my homemade chicken and avocado burgers 🍔 I made enough of the pasta salad and burgers that I have lunch already made for the remainder of the week👩🏽‍🍳

  • Happy New Year! 🍾🥳 I started this new year out by cooking a lot of yummy and delicious food today 👩🏽‍🍳 After getting some much needed sleep, for breakfast I made Breakfast Tostados 🍳 This recipe is very simple and easy to make. It is EXTREMELY filling. I was only able to eat one of them this morning (but that might also have been because of the hangover I woke up with 🤕) ————————————————————————
Last night was a TON of fun. I spent the evening with my best friend. We ate out at Olive Garden🍝, came back to my apartment, popped a bottle of champagne (and wine🥂) and danced the night away 👯‍♀️ ————————————————————————
I’m excited to see what 2019 has to offer and excited to see what new opportunities I come across during the year. Continuing to grow as a person is a goal I will be working on throughout this year: emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually🙏🏼 ————————————————————————

  • Boy was I HUNGRY after my workout tonight 🍽🍗 I could tell that after leg day I needed a good amount of protein so I stopped at Wegmans on my way home and picked up a Rotisserie Chicken, Brussels Sprouts and Brown Rice! My body definitely appreciated the nutrients after my workout 💪🏼🏋🏽‍♀️

I was very proud of myself today. Work was long (isn’t that how it is always after being off for five days?! 🤯) and I had a headache....making my motivation to go to the gym tonight non-existent 😶 BUT I told myself “If you want to reach your goals, then you’re going to have to discover motivation on days like today”...and that’s EXACTLY what I did 🙌🏼 and I am SO HAPPY I did! On my way to the gym, I listened to some of my favorite music and was able to pump myself up, resulting in an AMAZING leg and tricep day 🦵🏼💪🏼 (I posted the workout on my story...check it out ⤴️)

I’ll be the first to admit that my biggest challenge is not giving into my mind when it tells me I’d rather go sit on the couch (lets be honest....laying on the couch always sounds like a good idea 🛋) But through determination and hard work, I know I can create a routine that my mind will slowly start to accept. And you can do the same! Those days when your mind tries to convince you the couch is better than the gym, prove it WRONG. I don’t know about you but my mental state is ALWAYS better after working out 😊

This week for lunches I made: Salmon🍣 Brown Rice🍚Black Beans, Broccoli🥦 and Spinach🥬 This is a super easy recipe to make and it leaves you feeling full for the rest of the afternoon which helps to keep away those mid- afternoon snack cravings! ————————————————————————

  • One down side of living on your own: you have to cook for yourself, even when all you want to do is sleep 😴😴 Tonight was one of those nights that i really didn’t feel like cooking so I heated up some turkey meatballs, @eatbanza pasta, and some roasted garlic sauce (and added a little too much cheese 🧀)🍝🍝 ————————————————————————
The one thing I really like about Banza pasta is how much protein is in it 💪🏼Finally someone created a pasta that you can enjoy and not feel guilty about eating 🙌🏼 I strongly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet 😊 ————————————————————————

  • Saturday was my work holiday party. Celebrating the holidays with the BEST coworkers I could ask for was MUCH NEEDEDğŸŽ…ğŸ¼ğŸŽ„ğŸ’ƒğŸ½ Seeing everyone dressed up and out of their work clothes was also fabulous👗👔! I am SO grateful to work for such an amazing company. God works in mysterious ways, and I’m so grateful for the road he led me on to my job 🙏🏼

But I’m not going to lie, it was hard. There was cocktail hour🍸, dinner wasn’t served until 8:30, and there was a whole dessert barğŸªğŸ«ğŸŽ‚. One thing I do to keep myself on track is I always try to eat by 7:00 pm, limit the amount of alcohol I consume, and try to avoid unlimited sweets. But sometimes, it is out of your control and your schedule gets thrown off🥴————————————————————————
Thankfully I was able to put all of the negative thoughts out of my head, enjoyed one too many glasses of wine and had an AMAZING night spent with the people who impact my life in a positive way every day✨

Life gets hard, the demons in your head try to bring you down. What matters the most is HOW you overcome it. The more you tell those demons they are wrong, the sooner it’ll be to the day you wake up and the demons are GONE👋🏼

I limit myself to eating out twice during the week and this was definitely a good meal to use one of my “cheat” meals on. Believe me, this is NOT a cheat meal for me...but i try to stick to my meal prep as much as I can during the week to not only ensure I eat healthy but also because it saves 💰

  • The key to a good day is waking up and knowing that it will be a good day 💆🏽‍♀️Something that gets me prepared for the day ahead is meal prepping the night before. Eliminating the need to make breakfast before work helps keep my stress level down early on in the day. And overnight oats help me accomplish this🥣 ————————————————————————
Tonight I made Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats! I included the recipe below:

3/4 c of quick oats (I buy the bulk kind from Wegmans)
1 scoop of @bobsredmill Vanilla Protein Powder
1 tablespoon of chia seeds 
Half an ğŸŽcut into small chunks
Cinnamon 
1 cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk (I use Wegmans brand) 
Combine all of those ingredients into a mason jar (or some type of jar container) before bed and place in the jar in the refrigerator. Then in the morning, you have breakfast all ready to go 🥄

I also sometimes make overnight oats with strawberries or blueberries/bananas. It just depends on what I’m in the mood for and what I have available 🍓🍌

Overnight oats are also AMAZING to take on vacation ✈️ Back in September when I was at the jersey shore for a week, I mixed all of the ingredients together before leaving my apartment and added the milk the night before I wanted to eat them. Perfect way to save money and eat healthy on vacation🏖 It was also a perfect snack after I got back from my morning runs 🏃🏽‍♀️
