  • The view out of the side of the cruiser this morning as I woke up. Took this one single photo.

  • Waking up this morning. Yesterday I took the 5D II and one lens and headed way down the lake to fish with @hunterdayphoto. Felt like proper summer. Now I’m back in the “office” doing computer work today, so thankful for @discovercrown to have such cool home bases up here near Glacier National Park. I can be out doing the fun stuff without ignoring my work. I’m taking over their account this week so go check out some more fun stuff there.

  • I talk a lot about creating moments and not settling for good enough on the workshop we just finished filming, and I want to talk a little about these photos I took last night. I was in a great spot with good light, but I didn’t have any ideas in mind. I shot and pretty much ended up with the same old stuff. I look at things like this as a scouting trip though, it’s never a waste for a few different reasons. 1, it’s fun. If it’s not fun why would you be doing it? 2, you have references and ideas to take with you when you go back a second time. 3, sometimes we just need to chill out and have fun with what’s in front of us. Hope this was helpful to someone out there.

  • Sweet summer time. I think everyone knows that Montana is my favorite, and even though I’m happy to come up here and camp for a month, staying with @discovercrown has enabled me with even more opportunities to do and see what I love. We’ve stayed 15 minutes outside of the park, and now in Columbia falls, which is my favorite part of the Flathead - having a home base and working with people I love has made this trip totally unforgettable.

  • I’ve stayed on Flathead lake before (and it was wonderful), but being at the @whistlestopretreat has blown every other place away - this is my definite favorite place to be. Waking up to a back porch on the water and having a yard like this has made for one of the coolest weeks of life. Now I just need Claire to come back with me. Thanks to @discovercrown and @whistlestopretreat, we’ll be back soon!

  • We’re getting almost 16 hours of daylight here in Montana this time of year, getting up for sunrise and shooting sunset every day makes healthy food choices a little difficult at times. At home I cook a lot, but when I’m on the go I rely on my peanut butter @gomacro bars to pick up the slack, and to keep me from starving when I forget meals. For the entire month of May GoMacro is donating 10% of their peanut butter bar proceeds back to @Farmsanctuary to assist in education, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts for animals! Make sure to check the link in my bio, and I highly recommend giving them a shot - I haven’t introduced them to a single person that wasn’t stoked on them. #Ad #gomacro #biggerthanabar #farmsanctuary

  • I’m teaming up with my good friend @alexstrohl on a workshop this summer, and here’s why it might be for you:
There was a time in my photography where I felt like I had hit a wall. My images were good, but I didn’t feel like anyone was going to remember them and think about them after scrolling past. In 2017 I got burnt out creatively, and started to think about what I could shoot if I could shoot anything. This was a breakthrough that lead to a lot of growth in my art and career. In this workshop we’re talking about creating your own world, capturing THE moment, not settling for good enough, when to shoot film and when not to, and more. This is for all of you that have gotten good, and are stuck trying to level up. I hope you’ll join me on this journey by signing up for more info at the link in my bio. I promise there will be no spam, and I’m even giving you 4 free unreleased Lightroom presets upon signup. Thanks all 🤘

  • Two years ago today I met @claire.max and I didn’t know life could be this good. I look up to you and admire you so much, I’m so excited for everything you will do and for everything we will do. I’m looking forward to being known as “Claire’s Husband,” and grateful that you don’t mind that I wear the same three shirts over and over. I sure love you, sweet darlin’.

  • Headed to Montana for a month but without my most favorite person who is working hard in school. Missing her already and making an excuse to go back to Montana with her. ❤️
