  • Time to stand up for what’s important. May 31st is the last day to submit a comment to help stop the proposed pebble mine in Alaska. Head over to savebristolbay.org to learn more information and submit a comment. It only takes a few minutes to help make a difference. #nopebblemine #savebristolbay #savethesalmon #keepalaskawild

  • One of my favorite birds on the planet, a Horned Puffin. A close relative of the Atlantic Puffin. In the picture you can see the patchy “horn” of skin above its eyelid that give this Puffin it’s appropriate name. #puffin #hornedpuffin #alaskalife #puffins

  • Brown bear walking away with a big coho after a successful hunt. The salmon are the lifeblood of many coastal rivers and streams throughout Alaska and the PNW. Without them, the whole ecosystem would suffer. #nopebblemine #brownbear #salmon #alaskalife

  • While exploring Florida's warm water springs, I had this playful manatee come up to me for some belly rubs. He would nuzzle his head into my wetsuit and then like a log, flip over onto his back while I gently rubbed his belly. These gentle and slow moving creatures are starting to make a comeback but always use caution when boating as it's hard for them to escape fast moving vessels. #manatee #savethemanatees #seacow #visitflorida

  • One of the coolest experiences I've ever had. This wolf decided to plop down and watch what we were doing from only ~20 yards away. He sat there motionless and seemed just as curious about us as we were about him. After about 5 min he got up and decided to pick up a stick and play with it, just as a dog would. I couldn't believe it. #wolf #wolves #alaskalife

  • This "squadron" of white Pelicans was a big surprise to me when I found them earlier this spring along the Chesapeake Bay. It's the first time I had seen them this far north on the Atlantic coast. Not the sharpest photo I've ever taken but love the way their beaks contrast against the white reflection of the water and their feathers. #pelican #chesapeake #chesapeakebay #pelicans

  • A brown bear searching for clams as the sun begins to rise. One of my favorite parts of guiding was waking up early and finding bears clamming along the coast. There's nothing like the calmness and tranquility of the early morning. #brownbear #clamming #sunrise #goldenhour

  • A curious fox coming in for a closer view and likely wondering what I was doing sprawled out on the ground. For almost all wildlife photography, one of the keys to a powerful image is getting eye level with your subject. Thanks to this foxes curiosity, it made that part a piece of cake. #redfox #hellothere #alaskalife #fox

  • Wolf giving me the look-down as it eats a freshly caught salmon hidden by the grass. My heart rate went from 60 to 160 real fast. Incredible experience to share a moment with this wolf. #wolves #alaskalife #salmon #wolf

  • The Milky Way shining down on a lone Saguaro cactus. I had a blast exploring @saguaronationalpark and it's thousands of famed cactuses. However, finding one with a clean background and the perfect "look" proved to be a fun challenge. After a few miles of hiking and avoiding rattlesnakes, I came upon this splendid view. #saguaronationalpark #saguaro #cactus #arizona

  • Brown bear cub learning to play the flute. Young cubs are extremely curious about the world around them and when mom or their siblings won't give them attention, they will often play with anything they can get their hands on. #brownbear #alaskalife #playtime #musician

  • One more shot of the cherry blossoms this year. Took this one on Thursday morning. Got really lucky again with the wind being essentially nonexistent, allowing me to do a long exposure shot with no motion blur on the blossoms. #dctography #igdc #mydccool #cherryblossom

  • I would love to see everything those eyes have... We’re currently in the midst of the comment period in which you can tell the Army Corps why the proposed pebble mine is a terrible idea. If you’re looking to get quickly up to speed and entertained at the same time, listen to the @dirtbag_diaries podcast about Cook Inlet, Bears, and the Pebble Mine. @drewhh talks about the huge threat the mine poses on the pristine ecosystems of Bristol bay and the Cook Inlet. #nopebblemine #savebristolbay #cookinlet #brownbear
