  • Have i ever mentioned how much I LOVE WORKING WITH PEOPLE!? This is the message i received from one of my clients after a life coaching session! "Perfection is an illusion" i had said, and i got a message later adding to that "but balance is not..." Yes, my clients are this awesome πŸ’«πŸŒŸπŸ’« we find ourselves getting lost in trying to do everything and to do everything to the level of perfection we see others 'doing it' in social media. We are giving ourselves an impossible task and then talk down to ourselves for not being able to achieve that 24-7. Its time to STOP BULLYING OURSELVES, perfection is an illusion, its not real, its not something specific, particular or fixed. It's an idea formed by our perception, hence it differs from person to person. However, balance can be real, again, an individual concept, but a healthy and real one. Balance does not mean 50-50. It means feeding and nurturing the different multidimensional aspects of your being; the mind, the body, the child within, the professional, the lover, the friend, the artist and any part of your self which ignites your soul.

  • You have the power to change your reality, only BY TAKING ACTION. Gathering of information might feel good, but it's of no use if it is not applied; and often to be applied, means stepping beyond your comfort zone! πŸ˜‰βœ¨

  • Working alone can be faster, we all know this in practical terms. By the time you explain your vision to your team/ students/ family, you can just take the time and do it yourself. However, taking the time needed for everyone to 'come on board', is an INVESTMENT which can bring you back multiple gains:
1. Sharing responsibilities hence completing various tasks in parallel saving you time
2. Multiple quality control inputs as responsibility of outcomes is shared among the group
3. Broader creativity range due to diversity of the group, joining forces and merging prior knowledge towards a more complete solution
4. Support and positive reinforcement by your pm group when things get tough, feeling of belonging, sharing and working on a mutual dream.
Don't alienate yourself by focusing on the challenges. Know that your group is as awesome as you are, each in their own unique ways! Find the special talent for each of your persons and tap into it!

  • Being brave is not the lack of fear; it's doing the act despite of the fear! Pushing yourself beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone. Once you do it one time, you know that next time it will be less scary, and the time after that even less, until it becomes easy; the boundaries of your comfort zone will have expanded, making a previously scary act, an easy one! Go turn your vision into your life!

  • Have you ever stopped to notice the inner chat that is going on in your mind? If not, this is a great exercise to do, the results will shock you! Usually the positive minded people will think that they never say things to themselves like 'i am a failure', ''i am not likable', 'i am fat', but in reality most of us do say these things in disguise! We might WORRY about how we will look in a swimming suit, or we might might be angry or disappointed with the end result of our efforts. That's the same inner chat in a different programming language, because the inner FEELING we create is the same. To take control over your mind, you need to become your biggest supporter! TALK TO YOURSELF THE WAY YOU WOULD TALK TO YOUR BEST FRIEND! Aim to change the feelings created by your inner chat.

  • Trying to measure one self against the other to measure intelligence is not only inappropriate, it's impossible! Each test only measures a type of intelligence through specify media i.e. numbers, shapes etc. It is also completely USELESS! The right question should be, HOW ARE YOU INTELLIGENT? Are you creative through arts? I.e. creatinggraphic products? Are you creative through physics? I.e. an engineering kind of problem solving? What do you enjoy doing, such energises you and also produces useful results? That is ONE of your intelligences!

  • Learning by being sat and still on a chair for hours while listening to someone giving out new information is a very unnatural and ineffective learning method. Remember that information can easily be found on the internet these days. Leaning is an experience, requiring several senses to be stimulated; to hear, to write in their own words, to use it in a real practical example which will make sense to the learner, like a case study, to explain it to someone else! Learning is a process, is not a sigle task!

  • It is proven by research! Your mindset can make you but it can also break you. Research conducted by Harvard over a period of two years, studied sales people, divided between 2 groups; the positive and optimistic people and the negative and pessimistic people. In the 1st year, the optimistic group achieved sales of 21% higher than the pessimistic group, and the 2nd year they surpassed them by 56%! What is your inner chat like? Do you stop to review your daily and weekly achievements or do you only focus on worrying the next to do list?

  • Have you ever experienced a moment where you were really struggling with a situation and where feeling really sad, and out of nowhere someone offered you a gentle, unexpected compliment or act of kindness like helping you with a task at hand? You see, when one feels sad, they feel alienated, even if they are surrounded by friends and loved ones! An act of kindness creates a heart-to-heart connection and positive exchange, which fuels positive thinking, positive feelings and courageous acts! I am greatful for the wonderful people of this world πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ’«

  • Responsibility nurtured and promoted through positive reinforcement can make a team flourish, and it naturally promotes a growth mindset. How to achieve that? You teach by example! You see something 'slipping off' the attention of your employee/ student? Step in and guide them to see it and deal with it. No criticism, no judgment, no finger pointing! Identifying the problem, taking actions to correct it and drawing a plan to avoid it repeating. Done!

  • The way you lead your team/ students will determine the quality of their work, their work satisfaction, their efforts and ultimately the progression of the company. The new generations have little tolerance towards such controlling and suppressing behaviour and environments. What they have to offer and their growth potential is so far beyond what people from generation x can envision, that working under micromanagement creates a huge limitation to both parties; the company and the employee. Take advantage of the spirited new talents, eager to learn, grow, create and achieve by offering the right working guidance & environment!

  • We all LIKE the feeling of learning something new, and we all LOVE the feeling of achieving something new! WE ALL DO! Every single person will find satisfaction in achieving something new. For this week, start by setting an intention to achieve something that is pushing you beyond your comfort zone, and make sure you read it and remind yourself of it every morning before you leave the house. Are you shy but would like to be more sociable? Set an intention to be spending lunch times in the cafeteria with colleagues and initiate conversation, ask your colleagues about their Christmas vacations and then do your bit of sharing by talking about yours. Is the technology around you making you feel uncomfortable or annoyed? Look for an afternoon course on leaning how to use your android phone and tablet and register today! Make it a priority and make sure you miss no class! Give yourself the gift of growth by investing in yourself πŸ’«

  • How are you impacting the people around you? Are you moody, complaining over taxes, bad driving, the weather, the boss? Or are you feeling happy, with inner peace, driven, excited, inspired, kind? The way you feel, hence the way you behave, adds to the environment you are at; may that be at work, at home or with friends. Your behaviour can set the standards of the behaviour culture around you! Be DELIBERATE with your mood, behaviour and actions. Choose consciously the behaviour you want to live your day by. Teach By example!

  • If you have found something that you love doing in your life, may that be a hobby or your job, then you know what I am talking about. That beautiful, inspiring, fulfilling and uplifting feeling when you are 'lost' in the process of doing something you love! Now imagine your team or students working with this same energy and excitement! Think of how motivated, happy, inspired and productive they will be! As a leader/ teacher, it is your job to guide them so they find and tap into that!
