  • Learning by being sat and still on a chair for hours while listening to someone giving out new information is a very unnatural and ineffective learning method. Remember that information can easily be found on the internet these days. Leaning is an experience, requiring several senses to be stimulated; to hear, to write in their own words, to use it in a real practical example which will make sense to the learner, like a case study, to explain it to someone else! Learning is a process, is not a sigle task!

Research conducted by Harvard over a period of two years, studied sales people,  divided between 2 groups; the positive and optimistic people and the negative and pessimistic people. In the 1st year, the optimistic group achieved sales of 21% higher than the pessimistic group, and the 2nd year they surpassed them by 56%! What is your inner chat like? Do you stop to review your daily and weekly achievements or do you only focus on worrying the next to do list?

  • Have you ever experienced a moment where you were really struggling with a situation and where feeling really sad, and out of nowhere someone offered you a gentle,  unexpected compliment or act of kindness like helping you with a task at hand? You see, when one feels sad, they feel alienated, even if they are surrounded by friends and loved ones! An act of kindness creates a heart-to-heart connection and positive exchange, which fuels positive thinking, positive feelings and courageous acts! I am greatful for the wonderful people of this world πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ’«

  • Responsibility nurtured and promoted through positive reinforcement can make a team flourish, and it naturally promotes a growth mindset. How to achieve that? You teach by example! You see something 'slipping off' the attention of your employee/ student? Step in and guide them to see it and deal with it.  No criticism, no judgment, no finger pointing!  Identifying the problem, taking actions to correct it and drawing a plan to avoid it repeating. Done!

The new generations have little tolerance towards such controlling and suppressing behaviour and environments. What they have to offer and their growth potential is so far beyond what people from generation x can envision, that working under micromanagement creates a huge limitation to both parties; the company and the employee. Take advantage of the spirited new talents, eager to learn, grow, create and achieve by offering the right working guidance & environment!

For this week, start by setting an intention to achieve something that is pushing you beyond your comfort zone,  and make sure you read it and remind yourself of it every morning before you leave the house. Are you shy but would like to be more sociable? Set an intention to be spending lunch times in the cafeteria with colleagues and initiate conversation, ask your colleagues about their Christmas vacations and then do your bit of sharing by talking about yours. Is the technology around you making you feel uncomfortable or annoyed? Look for an afternoon course on leaning how to use your android phone and tablet and register today! Make it a priority and make sure you miss no class! Give yourself the gift of growth by investing in yourself πŸ’«

That beautiful, inspiring, fulfilling and uplifting feeling when you are 'lost' in the process of doing something you love! Now imagine your team or students working with this same energy and excitement! Think of how motivated, happy, inspired and productive they will be! As a leader/ teacher, it is your job to guide them so they find and tap into that!

  • Happy New Year! One of the best gifts you can give yourself these days,  is to take some alone time and reflect on what you would like 2019 to be like for you. Start writing down your biggest dreams and ambitions, without allowing fears and insecurities or 'logic' to intervene. Do you want to start your own company? Do you want to change working environments? Do you want to find a job allowing you to work remotely or with flexible hours? Take time to create a clear vision of what it is you want,  and then start proactively to investigate for ways to make it happen. You can either be proactive into shaping and creating the life you want,  or you can let whatever is to come your way swip you away.  It's on your hands, and like every person I have met to this day, you too have awesome greatness in you! Let it shine!

  • What is one thing you have experienced this year for which you are DEEPLY GRATEFUL? for me, I am deeply grateful for the amazing support system that I have had through 2018; family, friends,  colleagues, followers, other professionals! Words can not express the gratitude I feel for all the amazing people I've  had the opportunity to meet and work with this year.  I feel deeply blessed πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ’«

  • My most valuable lesson of 2018 has been the insight of finding opportunities when things don't turn out the way I planned them to. In the past I would get really upset if after I put in a lot of time and hard work, I didn't get the results I was after. 2018 has taught me when this happens, to stand back, CLEAR MY HEAD and observe to see this new situation; TRUST that I am being given something better than I anticipated; and with this expectation look to find the new OPPORTUNITY for me to act on! It has given me so far 100% grander experiences and results than the ones I originally planned for! πŸ’«πŸ’«

  • Experiencing emotions is often seen as weakness.  However, we are emotional beings; through our emotions we learn, we grow, we develop,  we live! The time where the leader/ teacher would speak and all others would just listen has now long gone. If you are not connecting information with emotions, you are only producing *noise*.

  • Automisation in the workplace is now a fact. A lot of jobs will be lost in the near future, and a lot of new ones will be created. The attributes which will make humans excel in the workplace are their HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS! As a teacher/ coach/ leader, you have the PRIVILEGE of helping your team on an individual base,  to recognise what makes them unique, provide a safe environment and the right tools for them to unleash their greatness! #Leaning_How_To_Learn
