Tammy Lewis was born more than three months early and weighed only 1 pound and 4 ounces. Her family was told that their newborn’s survival rate was 5 to 10%. But she beat the odds, becoming the smallest surviving baby in the state of Texas at the time, according to Lewis. Now, 34 years later, she works as a respiratory therapist at the same neonatal intensive care unit that saved her life. “I wanted to be able to give back to the patients and families in the same situation that I was in,” she said. One week after Christchurch shootings, hundreds of people gathered outside a mosque in Wellington, New Zealand, and locked arms to form a massive human chain, in a symbolic act of protection of the Muslim community during Friday prayer. The move came as New Zealanders mourn the 50 victims of mass shootings at two Christchurch mosques on March 15, in a national day of reflection to mark a week since the terror attack. Witnesses said people of all races, ages and social classes linked arms during the call to prayer at the Wellington Islamic Community -- known locally as the Kilbirnie Mosque.

One week ago, a gunman killed 50 people in a terror attack at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. Today, women around the country -- including Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel -- wore headscarves to remember the victims and show solidarity for the Muslim community. “I hope that seeing thousands of New Zealanders wearing headscarves will show them how deeply we value and respect their courage,” said Kate Mills Workman, who is wearing one today as part of the "headscarf for harmony" campaign. Beto O’Rourke has made an unexpected appearance ... as a 2-acre wide crop circle in Texas. The former Texas congressman, who announced his 2020 presidential campaign last week, was enshrined in a hayfield by American artist Stan Herd. At first sight, it looks like a silver fern, the traditional emblem of New Zealand. But a closer look reveals the fern is formed by 50 silhouettes of Muslims in various stages of prayer. This is the compelling tribute that Pat Campbell, a cartoonist for Australia’s Canberra Times newspaper, drew in memory of the 50 people killed in the Christchurch mosque mass shootings. We are announcing action today on behalf of all New Zealanders to strengthen our gun laws and make our country a safer place," Ardern said. She also added that she hopes the law would be in place by April 11. "This legislation will be drafted and introduced in urgency."

Did you see the supermoon last night? It was the third and final supermoon of the year. March's full moon is also traditionally known as the Full Worm Moon, because the ground began to soften in March so that earthworms could appear, drawing more birds to feed, according to the Farmer's Almanac.
